We lived about ten blocks from our local movie theater, the Della Theater, until it closed in 1964. I remember being driven there a few times, but also walking it with my brothers and/or sisters. The last movie I can recall seeing there was Mary Poppins.

Other movies I remember seeing there:
1959 (4-5 years old)
- The Shaggy Dog
- Sleeping Beauty
- Darby O’Gill and the Little People
1960 (5-6 years old)
- Swiss Family Robinson
- Alakazam the Great
- The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
1961 (6-7 years old)
- One Hundred and One Dalmations
- The Absent-Minded Professor
- Babes in Toyland
1962 (7-8 years old)
- In Search of the Castaways
1963 (8-9 years old)
- Sword in the Stone
- Son of Flubber
- Jason and the Argonauts
1964 (9-10 years old)
- Mary Poppins
- The Incredible Mr. Limpet
After Della closed and was torn down in 1964, we typically went to Capitol or Palace theaters in downtown Flint. We didn’t walk there since it was four miles from home. We could take the bus from Civic Park, just a couple blocks away.
